We make all kinds of coils for Air Handling Units (AHUs) including chilled water coils, steam coils and evaporator coils. We can design from specifications to match existing dimensions and performance, in copper tube aluminum fin, any size or capacity.
What is an AHU?
Air Handling Unit (AHU) is basically a metal box in which are: ventilators, coils, filters, mixing chamber, and dampers. AHUs distributes the conditioned air throughout the building via ductwork which also returns the air to the AHUs.
How DOES it work?
Air Handling Unit (AHU) takes air from the outside then freshen up the air and circulate it into the building. Removing the exhaust air, AHU helps create a healthy indoor air quality. Temperature can be adjusted according to requirements; if high temperature is required, the air will be heated by the heated coil or recovery unit otherwise the air can be cooled by cooling coil to create even negative temperature.
Depending on the requirements, AHU can also be set to recirculate the air from other rooms via a mixing chamber–saving you a lot of energy. The mixing chamber has dampers to control the proportion between the returning air, outside air, and exhaust air.
AHUs can be designed to be more energy efficient by fitting a heating or cooling recovery exchanger inside. Aside from being more energy saving, this would also result in higher capacity as well.
AHUs can also be designed to be used outdoor, most commonly known would be RTU or rooftop unit.
